Planning to travel with your furry family member? Prior to an airline accepting your dog or cat for transport, a representative from the airline must see a recent health certificate supplied by your veterinarian.

A certified veterinarian will need to examine your pet in the consulting room before they are capable of filling out the health certificate. The exam determines whether your pet is in good health and fit to travel. Depending on the destination, specific requirements are a must for eligibility.

Check the airline you wish to travel for the latest rules on how far in advance you may obtain your pets health certificate or if they have any additional paperwork required for the destination you wish to travel. Most health certificates are valid for a limited period then expire. Your pets' examination date should be scheduled around your travel date.
